The results of clinical tests have shown that the products which contain 20 mg vitex extract can be effective on irregularity of menstrual period such as: oligomenorrhea, polymenorrhea, menorrhagia, amenorrhea, and Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) that include: headache, breast tenderness, bloat, fatigue, changes in appetite, anger, sadness, hopelessness, feelings of worthlessness and variable moods. The research about mechanism of vitex extract action has shown it work on pituitary gland by D2 receptor and decrease prolactin level so can cause improvement in hyperprolactinemia. In addition, vitex extract can work as corpus luteum hormone that inhibit FSH and stimulate LH release and as the result increase estrogen and decrease progesterone level. Moreover result from several studies has shown that vitex extract is helpful for acne (that cause before menstrual periods) treatment. This product with dopaminergic effect can improve mental disorders, sleeping irregularity and physical disorders of menopause such as hot flushes.
Standard and dry total extract of Vitex agnus-castus: 20 mg per tablet
ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE
Take 1 tablet half an hour before breakfast.
There is no document about this medicine interaction in recommended dose.
Rarely causes headache, fatigue, nausea and dry mouth (1-2%).

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
This medicine is contra-indicated during pregnancy and lactation.
Check with your pharmacist or doctor if you take any OCP (Birth Control Pills).
