Respiratory Tract Anti-Inflammatory
Thyme is a bronchial antispasmodic and an expectorant. Spasmolytic and expectorant effects may be respectively due to the flavones fraction and ciliary activity of the terpenes.Antibacterial & antifungal activity is mainly attributed to thymol and carvacrol .
Catarrh of the upper respiratory tract , Common cold , Bronchitis
Each 100 ml Avipect syrup contains 50 ml thymus vulgaris (thyme) liquid extract (20 mg phenols calculated as thymol). The extract also has flavonoids such as apigenin, naringenin, luteolin, caffeic acid derivatives and triterpenes.
ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE
Children : One teaspoon (5 ml) three times daily
Adults: two teaspoons (10 ml) three times daily
There is no documented interactions .
No health hazards or side effects are known in conjunction with the proper administration of designated therapeutic dosages.The drug possesses a low potential for sensitization.
CONTRAINDICATIONS & PRECAUTIONS
In hypersensitivity cases to thymus vulgaris , don’t take avipect syrup.
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Avoid taking this medicine during pregnancy .There is no documents about using during lactation.
Store below 30˚C and protect from light and moisture.
